Acts of benevolence by the Chinese of the city to the hospital are not infrequent, and the Hospital Board yesterday got a contribution of £5 5/ from Mr. Wah Lee and £1 1/ from Mr. Louis Quin towards the general funds. The money is to be applied to the purchase of a set of anatomical and surgical books for the Nurses Home library. The gifts carry with them a subsidy, which increases it to £14.
