MRS. M. FONG PASSES

The death occurred in the Darwin Hospital last Sunday morning of Mrs, Mary Fong, wife of Mr. Albert Fong, prominent Darwin' business man. Mrs. Fong, who was 40 years of age at the time of her death, was born in Fine Creek arid spent practically thc whole of her life in thé Territory, She went to China for her schooling and returned to Darwin, where she married Mr. Fong in 1926. In 1930, the couple went on a holiday trip to China.

Mrs. Fong has been ill for thc last 12 months and was a patient at the hospital for three months continuously be- fore her death. She is survived by Mr. Fong and two daugh- ter», aged 15 and 13.

The funeral, which left the Catholic Church on Tuesday mornirig after a service conducted hy Rev. Fr. Flynn, was attended by many Darwin businessmen and old residents. Almost 40 vehicles formed the cortege, and floral tributes were extremely numerous.
