Déportation Deferred

The deportation order against Peter Karn Yen Wong, of Perth, who has been resident in Australia since he was two years old. has been with- held until the end of this year by the Minister for the Interior Senator, Foil following representations made to him by Western Australian members of parliament. Wong was born in China but his brothers and sisters were born in Australia. Wong was educated and has a trade and position in Perth, but has been declared a prohibited immigrant by the authorities who have been renewing his permit to remain year by year.

Further representations are to be made to the Minister by Mr. Nairn (U.A.P., Perth) tohave the deportation order cancelled permanently. Monday 29 May 1939 The Canberra Times (ACT)
