FIVE INJURED CAR AND LORRY COLLIDE

HASTINGS, March 26

Five were injured, one seriously, when a light rental car collided violently with a fruit lorry in Hastings at 6 o'clock this evening. The injured were Stanley Wong, Hastings, a Chinese, concussion and shock; John Steadman, Auckland, shoulder injuries; George Snell, Hastings, head injuries; Charles Edwin, Napier, head injuries; George Tod, Otahuhu, cuts and abrasions. Stanley Wong and John Steadman were admitted to hospital. The former is in a serious condition. Both vehicles were badly damaged, the lorry overturning. DEATH OF CHINESE

HASTINGS, This Day

Stanley Wong, a Chinese, driver of a van which collided with a car on a Hastings Street intersection last night, died from injuries at 10 o'clock this morning.
