MANY NEWCOMERS LOCAL RUGBY

RANKS SOUTH ISLAND PLAYERS Among many newcomers to Rugby football in Wellington this year will be several who have played with distinction in other centres. A. H. Andrews, Canterbury and South Island representative forward, has taken a position with a firm at Lower Hutt and will be playing for the local club. Another South Island representative, A. S. Fong, of Greymouth, has accepted a position in Wellington and is due here about the middle of this month. Fong has represented the West Coast for a number of years, captaining the team during the period in which the Seddon Shield was held by the Coast. He is a fast and nippy inside-back, and also shows speed on the running track. It is likely that Fong will be playing for Eastbourne. Evening Post, Volume CXIX, Issue 81, 5 April 1935, Page 9
