FONG SEE CHOW. A CHINESE ROMANCE.

SYDNEY, October 12. About 13 years ago when he was 40 years of agc he married a girl of 15. Soon afterwards he was (in In his own words) "welly before" Today he is returning to his native land with his wife and eight children, a wealthy man on a second honeymoon This little man with an amazing history is known as Fong See Chow who came to Sydney today by the steamer Suva on his way back to Canton In 1908 the newly married Chinese couple set out from China for Fiji. He was 40 and she was 15. As he says he went broke in Fiji. The people had such a high opinion of him however, that they set him up in business again as a merchant. From that day it was a march to progress In 14 years of their married life eight children - Annie, Lily,Percy, Frank,Lizzie. Margaret, Violet and Nancy- the eldest of whom is only 12-came to the family. They were all on the Suva today, fine looking kiddies faultless dressed Fong See Chow and his little wife are very happy. We may return to Fiji he said but we will have a good holiday first.
